I was born and raised in Alexandria, VA. Art has always been a large influence in my life. It all began when I was a child growing up in my mother's chinese restaurant (Fu Jian Chen). Trying to survive from my daily boredom, I began to buy comic books at a Rite Aid a few stores away from the restaurant. Along with that, there were certain people in my family who were also talented artists. Admiring those in my family, I picked up a pencil and began to copy images from my comic books. I was soon enrolled in virtually every art class from grade school all the way throughout college.
While attending high school at Thomas Edison, I came across a computer graphics class. Thats when I was introduced to programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator. I took great pleasure in photo manipulation.
I attended George Mason University in the fall of 2001. My heart was set on art and continued to take art classes. These classes included traditional art classes, sculptural art, and digital art. I thought I knew what I was doing when it came to drawing, until I met my favorite drawing teacher. His name was Chawky. He recreated my style of drawing. Being used to drawing with contour lines because of comic books, my real life drawings followed this mentality. He taught me the importance of tone next to another tone to create shape.
I majored in Digital Arts. After graduation in the Fall of 2006, I realized that I wanted to go towards another route. So I looked to graphic design and web design. I gathered great experience through the jobs that I placed.
I currently reside in CA and am continuing my passion in art, web design, and chasing whatever I dream.
